Fred and Ginger, we love you!

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers are my favourite on-screen couple, bar none. They had such a-MA-zing chemistry in their movies, and the dancing is absolutely the best you'll ever see.

My beau has been playing the song 'Love You Madly' by Cake a lot at home recently (yes, he sings along to me, and yes, he's awesome) and he just sent me a link to this tribute montage of Fred & Ginger moments from all 10 of their movies set to that very song.

I love the old-school clips playing against this song and how it really 'works' - it shows how Fred & Ginger still have it, 70-odd years after the fact.

Slight hiatus in effect

Hello folks,

I wanted to write a quick note as I have not updated the site for a wee while. Without going into too much personal detail, suffice it to say that my mother has rapidly become quite seriously ill (I hate to use the word 'terminal', but that's essentially what we're looking at) and the whole scenario has been taking up 95% of my headspace at the present time.

I'm heading over to Canada in December to be with her for a month, so I'm now trying to get my ducks in a row here in New Zealand and get some paying freelance work tidied up before I leave.

So - all this has left little time and energy for Diamond Dame. I do apologise. If I was better organised I'd have a stock of content already written and queued for release, but alas I don't.

If anyone is keen on writing a guest post on a vintage-y topic, please let me know. Otherwise I'll do my best to get some stuff up before my trip, but the next couple of months may be a little sparse in terms of posting.
